Episode 5: Freedom of Assembly

In the fifth episode of Radio Scissors, Mohammad Ali Kadivar speaks about the basics of freedom of assembly from a sociological and conceptual perspective. He also offers a constitutional, sociological and political analysis of the status of freedom of assembly in the Islamic Republic. In doing so, he presents a historic timeline of various important uprisings throughout the history of the Islamic Republic ,such as the Green Movement.

Mohammad Ali Kadivar
Mohammad Ali Kadivar is a PhD Candidate and Teaching Fellow at the Sociology department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He studies social movements and democratization globally and in the Middle East and writes about Iranian politics in Farsi and English.
